Outwith the Glencoe area are many other spectacular places to see and photograph. All the best options will be considered and offered depending on the time of year and the weather conditions on the day.

Likely locations include - Various loch and mountain scenes around Glencoe, the famous Jacobite steam train crossing the viaduct (May to October), Kilchurn castle, Glen Etive, Glen Nevis and many more.

Beginners Glencoe Workshop

An option for people looking to learn the basics of photography or their new camera. There’s no better classroom than on location around Glencoe!

Half Day £150 (4 hours)

Full Day £260 (8 hours)

  • All basic settings of cameras and lenses

  • How each setting affects the look of your photo

  • Tripods and filters – how and when to use them

  • How to avoid distractions in your photos

  • The basics of composition - Elevate your images with some simple eye catching tricks!

The Glencoe Workshop

For photographers that already have an understanding of their camera, wanting to push their skills to the next level. We’ll take you to the best locations to capture stunning images and learn your new skills in.

Half day £180 (4 hours)

Full day £300 (8 hours)

  • In depth recommendations for camera settings/menus, tripods and filter systems

  • Advanced techniques such as bracketing, panorama’s and focus stacking

  • Get expressive with camera movement and multiple exposure techniques

  • Elevate your images with creative composition ideas

  • Learn how to be in the best locations given the time of year and weather conditions, no matter where in the world!

  • The beginners workshops must be taken in one session, we can help plan the best time for you

  • The Glencoe workshop full day can be taken as one long session or split into two 4-hour sessions for example one at dawn and one at dusk, to optimise the chances of shooting in great light

  • The Glencoe workshop half day must be taken in one session, we can help plan the best time for you

  • Multiple full days can be booked and receive a 10% discount

  • Each workshop is for up to 2 people

  • For every extra person add £40

  • A non refundable 30% deposit is required to book

Alex is an award-winning Scottish photographer who resides in Fort William and has spent years exploring and photographing Scotland, especially Glencoe. So who better to lead a workshop than someone who knows the areas like the back of their hand.
