About Alex

Alex is an award winning photographer based in the Highlands of Scotland. If he is not out enjoying the landscape he is leading photography workshops across Scotland.

Alex has traveled extensively all over the country exploring mountains and camping in remote and hidden glens. During those experiences he realised his desire to capture and share those moments and so his love of photography was born.

Through all of his adventures he has always been drawn to the Glencoe area and fell in love with it so much that he relocated to Fort William in 2017.

He is now primarily known for his dramatic and dreamy images from Scotland. He loves to create new compositions and apply a contemporary approach.

Over the years Alex has developed a deep connection with nature enabling him to immerse himself in the outdoors. This allows him to get the best from the landscape in the many moods mother nature provides, whether its big atmospheric vistas or smaller intimate scenes.

He started photography in 2012 and has since worked hard at perfecting his craft and vision. Whilst out in the field Alex has noticed a real sense of calm and well-being and the feeling of truly being alive in the moment.

He now enjoys nothing more than sharing his knowledge and teaching in a way that will give skills to any level of photographer, enabling them to go forward with a fresh and exciting outlook and the freedom to tell their story through their own images.

As well as appreciating the beauty of the areas he visits, he also believes in caring for mother nature. His ethos is to leave a place the way he finds it and donates to NTS Glencoe to help preserve the environment.
