Black and White
It’s only over the past couple of years I’ve really started to enjoy images in black and white. I love stripping away the colour to really focus on the composition and subject(s) in the scene. I tend to think now that if the colour isn’t adding to the image, it might just be distracting.
Focusing more directly on the composition, graduating tones and contrasts can really emphasise what you’re trying to say with the image, tell the story clearer. I love that just by removing colour creates a step out of reality and timeless feeling, something that can be applied to all styles of photography.
